Publishing Task 2

Introduction

In this publishing task 2 document, it will be discussed what my website is going to be about, why I am deciding to build this kind of website, how I am going to build this kind of website and I am also going to review someone else’s blog and insert a comment giving my feedback.

What is the website about?

For this content management assignment website, I am going to be building a website about photography. This website is going to cover items like cameras, lenses, and even some accessories because there is a lot of equipment that comes with photography and underneath people can leave reviews on the products. For my inspiration, I am using the Canon official website as that has a lot of content management system features like a search bar, codes beside each product, and even filters so you can find exactly what you are looking for. On this website, you cannot buy directly from this website but this website is built for review and product information only.

Why is the website being made?

I decided to build this kind of website because photography is a very popular hobby and very popular in the media sector. There is a lot that goes into photography and so much to learn so building a content management system website based on photography will help people find exactly what they are looking for in terms of cameras, lenses or any accessories needed for their photography needs. I also have a passion for photography and have my own Instagram account dedicated to my photography work so building this website will not only teach and show people things about photography equipment but it also teach me a few things about the different equipment and what they are used for. Since people can insert reviews on certain products, the reviews can let people know what products are good and what isn’t. I believe  Click here to view a review site on photography.

How is the website being made?

I am going to create this content management system website using WordPress. There is built in themes and plugins I am going to use in order to have a good and useful content management system website. I am also going to get some information from some official camera websites like Nikon and Canon so I can put accurate information on the equipment that is displayed on my website. There is also going to be a plugin inserted so people can insert comments and reviews on products to let other people know their experiences with the product.

When looking at other people’s blogs, I commented on Flosie’s blog as she is building a website where you can find cheap and affordable art equipment and I like this idea because it is quite difficult to find art equipment that is both affordable and exactly what you are looking for.
